Trick or Treat? Sorry I mean eggs or flour

Don't you just love Halloween. It's the time for little kids to scare everyone else for a change. Or is it just the trigger to set the hounds of chavs to start lighting the fireworks and to get rid of their supply of eggs that has been building up for the past couple of weeks.

Whatever it is I don't like it that much. Sure it's fun dressing up. I loved it. I remeber getting my own back on some kids who'd egged our house the year before. Me and my brother sat in the corner of the garden with the hosepipe, waiting for them. The story tells it's self from then on. They haven't been back since.

You get all these church goers protesting now that Halloween is TOO scary and that it should be made more fun and bright instead of dark and spooky. Sorry, easter was about 6 months ago. Now it's time for Satan to have a day where he gets worshiped. Why would we want a day of facepainting and other cuddly activities then an early night? We want to scare people. The reason I believe the church wants this is to single out the small groups of idiots who use the dressing up as a disguise to cause mayhem. But why should the minority's behaviour change an entire culture's holiday activites?

Maybe I'm looking into this abit too deep.

It's just because I'm jealous of the young ones having all the fun because I'm too big now.

Advertising directors needed!

I've come up with a fantastic idea today, while sat here on my beanie bored. I'm not silly enough to say with this been the internet & ideas can get copied quick, but if anyone works for a big national company which sells a product, and would like a free form of advertising, please contact me.

It would help me alot with getting my idea up and running, and will be a national form of advertising for free for your company.

Any help with this is much appreciated.

Kudos

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which

People always try and distniguish between a virus and a piece of spyware. A virus is described as "a segment of self-replicating code planted illegally in a computer program, often to damage or shut down a system or network." A piece of spyware is known as "Any type of software that transmits information without the user's knowledge."

Now to me, I know when I have spyware. It's the reason my desk has the massive head shaped indents of spending hours finding the tricky little pieces which hide away from my SPYBOT protection, after worming it's way into my computer. Viruses on the other hand, I don't know about, unless my computer feels I need to know one tried to rip my hard drive to pieces. These definitions I feel are abit outdated and vague now. To be honest, the majority of spyware is placed illegally, and viruses transmits information, whether it be email contacts or other information which allows the virus to pass onto other systems.

Basically I find spyware annoying. It my just be because I'm in a bad mood after making two call outs today to homes miles away from my office, to find thousands of pieces of spyware. Over the phone, one of these customers said their computer was covered in viruses. So I explained to him how to scan his computer for viruses using an online program. "It says '0 Viruses found'!" When I got there, I was hit by something like 72 popup Internet Explorer windows. The computer was chugging along at a silly speed trying to keep up. I found 1244 pieces of spyware between scanning with Ad Aware and Spybot. Apparently his son has been trying to find free MP3s on the internet. Good old free MP3's. He didn't find any. He just left his dad with a bill if his dad had gone anywhere else. I refuse to charge for getting rid of spyware though. People shouldn't have to suffer.

One thing I would like to know is WHY? It may be a question that everyone asks but what do the bastards who make spyware get out of it? Because I don't know one person who clicks on any of the links. Doesn't matter how many times it pops up to try and persude me. Maybe they just get a thrill from knowing millions of people are either wasting their time downloading programs to get rid or chucking away money to greedy computer "technicians" like MR PC DOCTOR who will sort your problems. But that's a moan for another day. I'll try and be a bit postive next post.

Can I get some feedback on how I'm going for two posts? I'm intrigued to hear if anyone is reading this.

By the way - this gave me a bit of a chuckle - enjoy. Click here

Have I reached a new low?

I dont know why people set up blogs? Is it because of their memory is that short that they feel they need to record their pointless facts and let the entire world read their pointless facts. Or is it because they feel that their thoughts are of that political and social importance that people will sit for hours reading these words of wisdom.

To be honest I think it is just because they are as bored as me. I'm not that bothered if I get 1 hit or 1,000,0000 hits. It's a way for me to pass time without feeling stupid. Hey! for all I know is that one of my thoughts or pieces of information may be useful to someone.

I'm reading BBC news at the mo, so I dont know whether what I write is worth it, since I could just stick a direct link to BBC. But to be honest then there is no point to this blog.

One article which I'm just abit confused about at mo is "The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is calling for a "private right to copy"

I'm sorry but is there a teenager or adult who abides by the current laws. The BBC admits itself that millions of people copy CDs. How many get prosecuted for copying CD's onto their PC? I'm not talking about those who share music files since that is a different copyright law, but to copy music onto a computer for private use is done by everyone. Instead of wasting money on creating new laws to allow copying cds, why dont they use the money to do something useful in the technology sector such as creating bills regarding sentancing spyware companies. That is a subject which the majority of computer users will want to be sorted.

Hows that for a first blog post? And to finish the geekiness - LOL IMAO
